Re: General Picking of Runs Summer 2020
A General Picking of runs will be held beginning January 31, 2022 and will become effective on Monday, February 28, 2022
In addition to the regular General Picking, there will also be ‘B’ picking consisting of the Saturday Schedule, (Monday through Saturday and Sunday on Sunday).
The A and B pick will consist of a 5 day work week with two days off.
It hasn’t yet been determined if the ‘A’ Pick (Regular Summer Schedule) or the ‘B’ Pick, (Saturday 6 days/Sunday) will become effective on June 15, 2020.
Please refer to the posted picking schedule for your specific date/time.
Each employee will call the picking room phone number (215-580-3981) at their assigned date/time, or the Operator can leave in writing with the Dispatcher, three choices of open runs and open days off and shall indicate the order of one’s choice. If necessary the picking team will call the Operator at the time they are scheduled to pick in accordance with the posted schedule.
We are facing an unprecedented situation which necessitates us to conduct business in an alternative manner. Therefore, the picking will be conducted via choice slips and telephone. Operators will not gather in the district to pick. The picking will run from 7 am until 4 pm each day, with Operators picking every 10 minutes (6 an hour, with 48 operators picking per day). The runs and trip sheets will be posted, handed out, and a link provided on SEPTA’s webpage to review.
The Authority will assign runs and days off to anyone who fails to call, fails to answer a call at their scheduled time to pick, or if they do not leave three choices as required, who refuses to pick promptly, or who refuses to pick for any other reason. If assigned, the runs and days off shall conform as closely as possible to the runs and days off picked at the previous picking.
Again, we thank you for everything that you are doing to support our delivery of daily service and for serving our customers during this difficult time. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. Stay healthy and well.
Please see any available manager for questions or concerns.
